This Shiraz, from 400 vines planted in 1881 is Barossa history in a bottle. Hand-picked from the vineyard still managed by the sixth generation of the Schiller family, only 1,398 bottles have been produced.

First vintage produced was in 2008 by Jason.  If you are looking for a back vintage to celebrate a special occasion or milestone send us an email, and we will see if we have that vintage available!

Perfumed nose of dried violets, blackcurrants, peppercorns and cacao. Hazelnuts and sweet spices, too. Creamy and polished, with a full body and velvety tannins. Delicious chocolate and sweet spice on the lengthy finish. Better from 2023. Screw cap.

92 Points - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion, 4th May 2024

Deep macerated plum, blackcurrant and blackberry fruits studded with spice, blackberry jam, pressed flowers, Old Gold chocolate, vanilla, wood spice and earth. There's a little more of a loose-knit feel to this release; it's wider in shape with chocolatey tannins and some nice sour-cherry acidity.

90 Points  - The Real Review – Huon Hooke - 8th January 2023

Deep-ish red with a strong purple tinge, the aromas herbal/foresty and red-fruited, seems indicative of a cooler site. The wine is medium-full bodied and the tannins slightly chewy and a trifle bitter on the finish. Liberal oak has been employed. Mocha and cocoa-powder. Better in a year or two.
