Smells of Provence herbs, sea spray, a doughy thread, yellow peaches, and orchard fruits. On the palate, it builds with nuance rather than dominance. Think yellow apples, peaches, citrus fruits and zest, a stony minerality come through, alongside a subtle note of wild fennel. Hand picked, wild yeast, time on skins 10 hours.

A recent winner of the 'Best White Wine – Other Varieties' trophy at the 2025 Barossa Wine Show and I reckon that judging team has nailed it. It's a textural ride, courtesy of 11 hours on skins. Sits mid-straw in the glass, offering up aromas of pithy lemon, poached pear and pawpaw with underlying hints of ginger spice, grilled nuts, a whiff of something souk-y, pressed meadow flowers and curd. Slinky and supple in the mouth, with a really appealing flow of lemon and stone fruits, dotted with spice and flickers of floral top notes. It has a long, cream-edged finish.

95 POINTS - Qwine 2025

This Schwarz Wine Co Meta Grenache Blanc release sees eleven hours on skins and the result is a delicious textural drive. Citrus flowers and white floral aromas light up the stage with Meyer lemon, pie apple and custard apple driving the fruit profile. Add a flicker of hazelnut, this is a wine bursting at the seams to please. A step up on the 2024 release, this is an excellent wine.
