Blueberry compote, iodine, charcuterie, tapenade and a slick of licorice. A taut, peppery furl across the juicy finish, lathered with refined chalky tannins.

The Meta Shiraz fruit is carefully selected from a few vineyards with rocky or hard growing soils. This gives the fruit (and therefore the wine) a brighter, blue fruited and more tightly tannic style.
Growers: this vintage is sourced from ten different growers, across seven sub-regions in the Barossa.

The Nitschke Road Shiraz block was planted by my mother and father in 1968 in Bethany near the base of the Eastern Barossa Range. The vineyard is still pruned and picked by hand and the soils of loam over brown and red clays results in a wine of considerable concentration and drive.
Rich, opulent fruit is the reoccurring theme with this vineyard and it always seems to show great balance and texture year in, year out.
The Nitschke Block Shiraz was the first wine made by Jason Schwarz back in 2001.

Once in a while, a parcel of wine stands out. When I tasted my 2016 wines, it was clear that this Shiraz from Ken Loveday’s Moppa vineyard is one of those wines. It is an exceptional barrel of Barossa Shiraz that deserves to stand alone as my first single barrel release – Jason Schwarz

Medium deep crimson, intense blackberry, musky plum hint strawberry aromas with charcuterie notes. Seductive plate with fresh buoyant dark berry meaty flavours, chocolaty textures, lovely Mid-palate richness and acid line. Lovely fruit complexity, richness flavour and structure.
