95 POINTS - Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion - 29th May 2023
Hand-picked mataro from the parishes of Moppa, Vine Vale and Bethany; wild yeast ferment, 17% whole bunches, unfined and unfiltered. Vibrant, purple magenta in the glass with aromas of blueberry, satsuma plum and mulberry set on a base of exotic spice, pressed flowers, turned earth, roasting meats, amaro and just the right dial setting on the mataro 'garrigue'. Bottom line, it's a pure-fruited, exotic little number with a savoury flow, lovely billowing tannins and an air of effortless drinkability.

The wine is splendidly fruited and inviting on the nose showing mulberry, dark cherry, thyme, clove and roasted nut aromas, followed by a delightfully flavoursome palate offering bright fruit intensity with savoury nuances, finishing long and silky.
